Sound Effect Request Thread - 1KidsEntertainment - 10-07-2012 10:28 AM

Editing your abridged series and/or parody and find yourself needing a sound effect? We at AbridgedForums have a vast supply of editors. So maybe one of us will be nice enough to give you one. Post a request, and hope one of us sees it!

Does this include requesting for someone to ripping sound effects from an episode?

RE: Sound Effect Request Thread - 1KidsEntertainment - 10-07-2012 10:36 PM

There isn't a way to rip sound effects from an episode (that I know of). You can rip audio from an episode, but if there's background music, ambience, vocals, or noise happening at the same time as the sound effect, you're shit out of luck.

Please, other editors, inform me if I'm wrong and tell me your secrets.

Depends on if you somehow have a copy with the different sections of audio. Sometimes Blu-Rays/DVDs actually have all the layers of audio inside the video if you rip it correctly. If not it's much harder. It's POSSIBLE to try and remove the stuff that isn't a sound effect via noise removal, but you need a clean version of whatever you don't want and even then there's no guarantee.

From what I understand, anything Funimation has this "layered sfx track" deal. Anything else, highly unlikely. There is another way though..if you're heartly serious, paying for sfx, if you reeeaaaly need them. Or making them yourselves.

Well, since I'm having trouble finding one, I need a sound effect of a vending machine getting kicked, or something close at least.

Here:

Or for something more elaborate:

I'm frequently needing some generic beeps for when people in GITS press buttons or interact with machines. All the natural ones in the show tend to be too dirty to rip. Could only find one semi-clean one.

Yo, Airrest, can we get the attachment system to accept .wavs and .mp3s so I don't have to rapidshare everything for this thread?

In the mean time, just copy and paste these url, LC to get to the file.

Might as well ask here while I wait for Kaiser to come online.

Does anyone happen to have a high-quality version of the flashback sound effect from the show "Arthur?" I'm in need of it for the next Geass, and I can't find it anywhere, despite so many people remembering the iconic sound of it.

You can hear the sound (albeit in low quality) here, at 1:10.

RE: Sound Effect Request Thread - Stephan - 05-11-2013 03:58 PM

Low-quality, but this sounds about right, it just needs some pitch-correction to make it higher(the show used a lot of royalty-free tracks, so that may be exactly what they did):

EDIT: I mean the one after 2 seconds, of course, not the initial one.

RE: Sound Effect Request Thread - Ezekieru - 05-11-2013 04:10 PM

Already ran into that whilst searching, and it's not quite what I'm looking for. Also doesn't help how low-quality it is.

EDIT: Managed to get a version from TehExorcist. Thanks anyways!

RE: Sound Effect Request Thread - mattroks101 - 05-14-2013 11:57 AM

Eze can you post that version some where? I'd like to have a copy too for something I'm working on.

Much appreciated.

RE: Sound Effect Request Thread - LightningCrabz - 07-07-2013 04:37 PM

You couldn't have posted this at a more perfect time for me, Yaro. I'm editing a big fight scene and I'm using the hell out of that combat pack.

I've skimmed through all of it, and I'm definitely adding half of it to my library.

RE: Sound Effect Request Thread - OoziHobo - 07-08-2013 07:02 PM

I would like robot sound effects and am having trouble tracking down good ones.
Wheels. Lasers. Machine innards. What-have-you.
Please and thank you.
